Arkansas Counties Unclaimed Money
Arkansas has 75 counties, and each one has residents with unclaimed money sitting in the state database at claimitar.gov. The state holds the property until the rightful owner or heir files a claim. County treasurers also play a role. Under Arkansas law, once the state has held unclaimed funds for three years without locating the owner, those funds transfer back to the county where they originated. The county then holds the funds in its general account and remains responsible for paying any valid future claims.
